Questions employees ask

Who is my employer?

EmployItaly is your legal employer in Italy. You work day to day for the company that hired you: they set your tasks, team and goals. We handle your contract, payslip, taxes and contributions.

Is this a real Italian employment contract?

Yes. Same contract type, same national collective agreement (CCNL) and same rights as any employee of an Italian company.

When do I get paid?

Every month, by bank transfer to your Italian or EU account, with a payslip. The pay date is in your contract.

Do I pay taxes myself?

No. Income tax and your share of contributions are withheld from your pay. Every year you receive the CU certificate. You file a tax return only if you have other income or want to claim deductions.

Does my pension build up?

Yes. Contributions go to INPS like for any Italian employee and count toward your pension.

What happens when I leave?

You receive your TFR, unused leave and the accrued share of the 13th month. If you are dismissed you may be entitled to unemployment benefit (NASpI) under the usual rules.

Can I work from home?

Yes, if agreed with the company. We put the remote work agreement in writing.

Who do I call if something is wrong with my payslip?

Us. You get a direct contact in our payroll team, in Italian or English.

What if I am not an EU citizen?

We handle the work permit and visa together with your employer.
